| Short Synopsis: | A ten-minute short film for the Evoca Foundation, set to Maya Angelou's 'Still I Rise'. The film pays tribute to the #WomanLifeFreedom movement through the story of a teenage girl resisting the patriarchal ‘morality police,’ after she is kidnapped from the streets of Tehran. It's sadly reminiscent of the story of 22-year-old Masha Amini, who died while in police custody for allegedly wearing a loose headscarf. Rise celebrates and honours the fierce women of Iran, alongside women and girls across the globe. Many of the crew remain anonymous due to fear of involvement. |
