Short Synopsis: |
Key Moment tells the story of the 12 year old piano student Ben who is very talented but feels small and insecure in his role. His teacher Ruben has always been a wise and calm companion to whom he has an almost grandpa-like relationship. He knows his student and his fears like no one else. He teaches him, that he can use his Memories to make his music more emotional and more powerful. Witnessing Ben going through this Process, we travel through his memories together with him and see how they - good and bad ones- influence the way he plays the piano. |

Notes for Judging: |
Do you connect memories to the songs you love? While playing an instrument, musicians can picture memories or feelings that will inevetably influence the way they play. Those memories will color the music, just as the music colors the memories. More importantly, it distracts from the audience or stagefritgt and helps musicians to focus on their music. In this short we can experience this effect together with Ben and ask the audience: What is your Key Moment? Everyone can try this at home, even if not playing an instrument. Just call up some memories while listening to a song, and see how it effects the way you experience it. |
