| Short Synopsis: | This 30-second film unfolds like a theatre production — a single, fluid camera move guiding us through a whimsical world of unofficial clubs formed not by status, but by shared quirks, curiosities, and everyday rituals. Each vignette is brought to life through practical effects, painted backdrops, and seamless transitions between handcrafted sets, creating an immersive stage where identity and expression take centre stage. We journey through four distinct clubs: the “We’ll Practice Our Swing Anywhere” club, the “Astrology Has Become Our Identity” club, the “Dare to Swim in May” club, and the “Secret Handshake” club. These aren’t your whisky drinkers of yesteryear. They’re birds of a different feather — expressive, eclectic, and united not by age or tradition, but by the strange and wonderful things they love. Each world is carefully art-directed with a nod to anachronism: flip phones meet modern fits, sun-soaked surf clubs and moonlit mysticism collide. This is a club of self-expression — a place where the aesthetic is as bold as the people. An omniscient narrator — cool, casual, and just a little bit godlike — ushers us through the evolving scenes with insight and warmth, giving us a peek into these unconventional communities and the bonds they form. Think Stranger Than Fiction meets The Royal Tenenbaums. With a visual style that leans into our limitations — handmade backdrops, visible stagehands, deep focus cinematography — we crafted a world that feels intimate, theatrical, and undeniably fun. Like live theatre caught on film. At its heart, the spot is a love letter to the unofficial bonds we form with our people — and the whisky that pairs perfectly with whatever weird, wonderful thing you’re into. Canadian Club.
