Short Synopsis: Where do gods go on vacation?
In this atmospherically rich and playfully exaggerated film, we follow Neptune as he rises from the depths of the sea and steps into his chosen holiday destination: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Even the god of the sea, the weather, and all flowing waters finds true relaxation and well-deserved freedom here. He takes a break from the pressures of modern life, lets loose, taps into his inner child, unwinds in untamed nature, and reconnects with himself.

Told in a cinematic-documentary style, blending improvised moments with staged scenes, the film paints a poetic yet ironic portrait of a god on sabbatical. With a minimalist setup, natural light, and dynamic camera work, a visual language emerges that oscillates between grandeur and groundedness.

Neptune’s encounters with nature become a symbol of freedom, vastness, and the human desire for retreat—a tongue-in-cheek reflection on our need to escape the everyday.
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern becomes the stage for an extraordinary encounter between myth and modernity—
and offers plenty of space, even for gods.
