Short Synopsis: “Ophelia” is a music film that follows a long forgotten memory living in a dusty attic up in the house of a mind. Stuck in the old walls, roaming from corner to corner, it's built its routine and life around its ugliness. A memory that one is ashamed of. Does it have a chance to break free and find its beauty?

The memory is embodied by a Berlin-based choreographer Nicola Mascia. He collaborated with Sasha Waltz & Guests, Emio Greco/PC, Benoît Lachambre, Constanza Macras, Jeremy Wade, Meg Stuart, Yasmeen Godder among others. Nicola was member of the Schaubühne ensemble, guest soloist at the Royal Swedish Ballet and also works as rehearsal director and teacher.

For this film, Nicola together with the directors Dasha Altukhova (documentary filmmaker with works screened at Doc.Berlin, The European Film Awards and multiple exhibitions around Europe) and Matias Dumas (documentary filmmaker with background in marketing in communication that works with AWS and other social organisations), developed the physicality and language of abandonment and longing for being set free. The camera, as a a voyeur, translates the movement into the story and, together with the protagonist, looks for the way out of the attic.
