| Short Synopsis: |
‘Year of the Snake’ is the product of ten days’ worth of footage, covering Arcade Fire’s road trip through New Orleans, Houston and Austin. In a direct line it’s about eight hours’ worth of driving, which the band took four days to do, filming everything along the way. The journey captured represents the song’s meaning of change and metamorphosis: “It's the season of change, and if you feel strange, it's probably good”. It’s about leaning into the uncomfortableness and difference. In YOTS, not only are the band going on a road trip, they are bringing us into their world – there is a cathartic release from the band as they move forward, shedding a skin. |
