| Short Synopsis: | A Short Film by Clément Lefer On a quiet island in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea, an abandoned post office has become an unlikely sanctuary for letters that will never reach their destination, messages sent to the lost, the departed, or to no one at all. At 91 years old, former postmaster Katsuhisa Nakata continues to open the doors of this “Missing Post Office” every Saturday, caring for these fragments of memory and grief. The Missing Post Office is a contemplative exploration of absence, the weight of unsent words, and the way places can carry the emotional traces of those who pass through them. The film blends documentary authenticity with cinematic sensitivity, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on what remains unspoken in their own lives. |
