| Short Synopsis: | The video is a series of static shots, each one like a visual tableau where Yamê is constantly rapping. All of these scenes take place in the heart of the city. Around him, people pass by in a hurry, never stopping, never noticing him. Yamê, however, is never seen directly facing the camera. He never looks at it. We only see him through reflections or shadows, which adds an abstract quality to the visuals. He's both the central figure and somehow detached from the scenes. Each shot is filmed in a single take, with no camera movement. Although the video is shot in Paris, the locations are unrecognizable — there's no clear indication of where we are. The setting feels familiar but undefined, like a city that could be anywhere. |
