Short Synopsis: | Many teenagers ask for a smartphone as a Christmas gift, while parents wonder if it’s a good idea, torn between wanting to fulfill their child’s wish and concerns about digital usage. The film stages the parent-child debate around smartphones and their use in the form of a musical comedy, revisiting this confrontation through everyday scenes set to song. To the tune of the iconic Christmas carol Carol of the Bells, reimagined by Clément Ducol (Emilia Perez soundtrack), teenagers sing about their demands and arguments for getting a smartphone, while their loving yet cautious parents respond with a firm “no,” worried about risks such as cyberbullying and excessive screen time. That is until an Orange advisor steps in with SaferPhone. Parents and teenagers then sing their joy in unison. Innovative in form, rich in details, characters, and settings, the film’s dynamic direction delivers a true festive spectacle while addressing a societal issue that concerns us all. A real Christmas film that perfectly conveys Orange’s concrete commitment to a safer digital world—without missing a beat. |
