Short Synopsis: When Director Tom Gould approached me with the pitch I was already living back in Europe. When I read it I decided to fly back to New Zealand because of the heavy and strong meaning this piece represents for me personally.

I lived in New Zealand for the past 11 years and been back in Europe now for the last year and a half. The piece itself encapsulates many beautiful and hard memories for the country of New Zealand. The people there are incredibly connected through sport and we had the chance to bring some of those hard emotions back. Some key legendary players got available to Tom Gould because of the sentimental value of how he wanted to remind people of the past.

The Brand CANTERBURY OF NEW ZEALAND has been supporting Rugby and other sports for 120 years. Helping players with sponsorship from the very start and has been with the Country through the bad and good years of sport. They are very proud to still call themselves a fully owned and operated New Zealand business.

Why I'm entering this personally as well is because I lived in New Zealand for the past 11 years and now I'm moving to Berlin on the 9th of September where I'm signed by Black Summer Artists. Feels like it will be a beautiful way to connect with people through the festival and I feel like my aesthetic as an artist belong there. Have been in Berlin countless of times so super excited for this next chapter.

Really looking forward to being there personally and to get inspired by other work!

Thanks,
Ziga
